Obituary for Wayne Colabaugh

Wayne J. Colabaugh, 67, of Stroudsburg, PA, died Wed. Feb. 7, 2018 at Lehigh Valley Hospital- Cedar Crest. Wayne was the loving husband of Bonnie (Simpson) Colabaugh, with whom he shared 47 years of marriage. He was born on January 9, 1951 at home in Bossardsville, PA. He was a son of the late Leo G. and Ethel E. (Gumm) Colabaugh. He grew up and lived in Monroe County all his life.

He retired in 2011 from East Stroudsburg University where he was a Carpenter/Mason for 29 years. He loved spending time with his family and friends. One of his passions was farming, which he did at the family farm since he was a teenager and continued until the time of his death. His other passion was model railroading. He was a member of the Christ Hamilton United Lutheran Church in Hamilton, Sq., Pa. and was a member of the Pocono Lodge #780 of masons.

In addition to his wife, Bonnie, he is survived by his daughters: Kimberly A. Pope and her husband David of Catawissa and Vicki L. Alleshouse and her husband Jeremy of Bethlehem; brothers: Craig L. Colabaugh and his wife Jacqui of Stroudsburg and Jamie S. Colabaugh of Stroudsburg; and eight granddaughters, three grandsons, three great-granddaughters, and a baby due this month.

There will be a visitation from 10-11:50AM on Tuesday Feb. 13, 2018 in the Light House, next to Christ Hamilton United Lutheran Church, 419 Bossardsville Rd, Stroudsburg, PA 18360. Funeral services and a masonic service will begin at 12:00 noon on Tuesday in the church.
