Vernon E. Hopler 89 of East Stroudsburg, Pa. died on Monday March 18, 2019 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital Pocono. He was the loving husband of Christine (Savchelli) Hopler. Born in Wharton, New Jersey he was the son of Vernon and Evelyn (Thompson) Hopler.

Vernon moved to the E. Stroudsburg area in 1994. prior to that he resided in the Boonton, N.J. area. He was employed at the Communication Techniques Inc. Co. of Whippany, N.J. for several years retiring in 1994. He also worked part-time as a security guard at the J.T. Lambert Middle School in East Stroudsburg for 10 years.
Vernon was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church in East Stroudsburg and was past Grand Knight at the Fr. Craft council at the church. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran and was past commander of the American Legion post 346.
In addition to his wife Christine he is survived by a daughter: Terri Lynn Venturini of Charlotte, SC, and granddaughters: Lynsey, Laura, Allison and Tracy Venturini and a sister; Marilyn North.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Gail Hopler and a 2 sister; Valerie Pugsley and Jean Cole.
There will be a catholic prayer service on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 11am at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home Inc. 23 N. 9th St. Stroudsburg, Pa. Entombment will follow at the Mountain View Mausoleum at Prospect Cemetery E. Stroudsburg, Pa. There will be no visitation.
