Rose E. Galozzo 92 of Stroudsburg, Pa. passed away on Wednesday May 29, 2019 at the Pleasant Valley Manor Nursing Home Snydersville, Pa. Prior to that she was a resident of Gluco Lodge in Cherry Valley for several months. Born in Stroudsburg, Pa. she was the daughter of Nunzio and Mary (Panza) Galozzo. Rose was a lifelong resident of the Stroudsburg area.

She was a graduate of the Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Allentown class of 1948. In 1969 she received her B.S. of Education School of Nursing from East Stroudsburg University. Rose was employed at the former General Hospital/Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg, Pa. for 40 years from 1948 to 1988. She retired as assistant supervisor from the hospital where she was instrumental in the development of the Infectious Control program there.
Rose was a professional advisor of the visiting nurses association of Monroe County, former board member of the American Red Cross and the Lehigh Valley infectious control center. Rose was also a member of the Alter & Rosary Society at St. Matthews Catholic Church in E. Stroudsburg, and a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Stroudsburg where she served on the bereavement committee for many years.
Rose is survived by 4 nieces: Mary Predmore and husband Ken of E. Stroudsburg, Pa., Rosanne Krueger and husband Scott of E. Stroudsburg, Kathryn Jennings and husband Richard of Reading and Emily Clark and husband Fred of Webster, N.Y. and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother Frederick Galozzo and a sister Millie Woodrow.
There will be a viewing on Monday June 3, 2019 from 10:00am until the time of the mass at the church.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday June 3, 2019 at 11:30am at St. Luke’s Catholic Church 818 Main St. Stroudsburg, Pa. with Fr. Carmen Perry as celebrant. Burial will be in the Gates of Heaven section of Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg, Pa.
