Apostolos Liakos

Apostolos Liakos, 92, of Bushkill, Pennsylvania died Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at his residence. He was the loving husband of Irene (Kialas) Liakos with whom he had celebrated 65 years of marriage. 

Born in Lamia, Greece, he was the son of the late Athanasios and Vasiliki Liakos.  Apostolos was residing in the Hawley area for the past 12 years and prior to that of Edison, New Jersey for 25 years. He was employed as an electrician for many years, and he was a member of the Holy Cross Greek Church in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.

In addition to his wife Irene, he is survived by a son Athanasios “Tom” Apostolos Liakos and his wife Alyona and their children Daniel Paul Liakos and Anabela Sophia Liakos.

Traditional Greek services will be held on Saturday February 28, 2026, at 1:30pm in the Holy Cross Greek Church 135 Stokes Ave. Stroudsburg, PA 18360 with Fr. Konstantinos Koutroulos officiating. Burial will follow in the Greek section of the Stroudsburg Cemetery. There will be a viewing on Saturday February 28, 2026, from 12:00 noon until 1:00pm at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home Inc. 23 N. 9th St. Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
